Custom Foot Orthotics
Prescription foot orthotics are made specifically for your feet and the activities you participate in. Fitting you with custom orthotics begins with a biomechanical examination of your foot, completed by Dr. Russell. He then casts your feet and sends the imprint to a lab that manufactures orthotics. The orthotic is custom-made to support the malalignment of your feet. Orthotics can be custom-fit to most types of footgear, including skates, ski/snowboard boots, golf shoes, running shoes, and dress shoes. A follow-up appointment is included with your orthotics to ensure comfort. Orthotics are not guaranteed to alleviate all your foot pain. If pain persists, other treatment options are needed to supplement the orthotics. These can include physiotherapy, weight loss, modification of activity, walking casts, NSAIDS or cortisone injection, laser therapy, and as a last resort option, surgery.
