Podiatric Services

At Dalhousie Station Foot Clinic, Dr. Russell treats all foot ailments from routine conditions to surgical treatment options.

Custom Foot Orthotics

Prescription foot orthotics are made specifically for your feet and the activities you participate in. Fitting you with custom orthotics begins with a bio-mechanical examination of your foot, completed by Dr. Russell. He then casts your feet and sends the imprint to a lab that manufactures orthotics. The orthotic is custom made to support the malalignment of your feet. Orthotics can be custom fit to most types of foot gear including skates, ski/snowboard boots, golf shoes, running shoes, and dress shoes. A follow-up appointment is included with your orthotics to ensure comfort. Orthotics are not guaranteed to alleviate all your foot pain. If pain persists other treatment options are needed to supplement the orthotics. These can include: physiotherapy, weight loss, modification of activity, walking casts, NSAIDS or cortisone injection, laser therapy and as a last resort option-surgery.

Removal of Ingrown Toenails

An ingrown toenail is the result of a nail growing into the skin that surrounds it. Ingrown nails can be very painful, especially while walking. It can be removed permanently with a minor surgical procedure. Dr. Russell specializes in removing ingrown toenails, leaving your toes looking and feeling great. We guarantee you’ll be pleased with the results. Once corrected, aesthetically it looks great and you will not be shy about wearing sandals!

Bunions and Hammertoes

Surgery for bunions and hammertoes is a last resort option and can be performed in our on-site operating room. Less invasive conservative options are tried first for treating these conditions.
